Typical Weekend

Saturday, we took the kids to a nearby park.  We brought baseball stuff, soccer  balls, golf stuff, and lunch for the kids.

Cleo is really good at hitting a softball.

Cleo and Sidney enjoyed kicking the soccer balls around.

Cleo is very focused when hitting a golf ball.

Sidney played soccer, golf, and baseball for around 10 minutes then he just wanted to eat his BBQ chips and berry applesauce.

He did like playing with the soccer net.

And being carried on Roger's head.

Sidney and Cleo really enjoyed the playground.

The park has permanently installed exercise machines which both kids enjoyed playing with.

We brought them cheese burritos, juice, chips and apple sauce for lunch. They ate lunch on a park bench then we headed home for naps.

After naps, we filled the pool and blew bubbles.

Sidney enjoyed the BBQ soy crisps. Unfortunately, he ate too many and did not eat his dinner.

Cleo got really good at catching the bubbles on her hand.

After bubbles, we ate dinner and gave the kids baths. Cleo's selection for movie night was Barbie Princess Charm School.

After the kids went to bed, Roger and I watched X-men: First Class. It was so good. Kevin Bacon is a great super villain. It was interesting to gain a better understanding of why Magneto is so mad in the other movies. Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz's daughter is not a good actress.

Sunday, we went to church then food shopping at Publix.  I took a nap while the kids napped. I have not been motivated to go the gym. I will get back on track either this or next week. My next goal is to re-start doing my P90X DVDs.

After napping, I attempted to make a carrot ginger sauce for some frozen baby snap peas. The sauce came out okay. I ended up straining out the carrots and ginger and the sauce that remained was good.  I also made tofu.  Roger heated up a frozen store bought apple cobbler that was actually good. The kids and I made blondie brownies. They're kind of cake-like. Cleo and Sidney agreed that they came out very good.  I had some vanilla ice cream with mine and heated up the brownie - awesomeness.

We gave the kids baths and they are now asleep.

This week is a busy one for me. Tomorrow, I am at an all day meeting at YKK AP, my company's subsidiary in Austell, GA (not too far from our house).  YKK AP makes architectural products.  Roger and I plan on registering Cleo for daycare tomorrow morning; we will get to the school around 8am. If they cannot do it then, then we will go back on Tuesday.  We had to gather a ton of documents. Roger took Cleo on Friday for her 5 year-old well checkup.  She got 4 shots and they took some blood from her finger to test for lead levels.  We had to get two forms from the doctor - a hearing/vision test form and a vaccination form.

Tuesday, I will be in the office. Wednesday, I am attending an all day continuing legal education course regarding insurance in the construction industry.  Thursday, I am in the office. Thursday, is Cleo's graduation. She knows her speech cold and I am so excited for her. She's going to do great.  Roger is going to pick Cleo up at 12pm on Thursday since that is when the school has instructed that she must be picked up.  Friday, I am taking off as a vacation day since it is Cleo's class' celebratory luau. Roger and I are helping to set up and clean up.   The luau is 11am-2pm.  After the luau, there is an awards ceremony.

Have a great week!

Happy Mother's Day

Saturday, we got the kids up and went shopping at Arbor Place Mall.  While we made the kids their breakfast, they cuddled on the couch while watching tv.  The stuffed animal is Cleo's female Stitch doll which she named, "Sally."

We returned some hats to the Children's Place and Crazy 8s. We got Cleo a cute mermaid t-shirt and cupcake necklace from the Children's Place.  We had lunch there. Cleo had pizza and Roger and I ate Taco Bell. Sidney did not eat his Chick Fil A fries that we got him.  Cleo ate one whole slice of cheese pizza.

Sunday, we went to church.

Then, we came home and changed into comfortable clothes.  The kids and Roger gave me my cards and gifts. Roger printed pictures of me with the kids, added cute comments, and put them on magnets.   The magnets are all around 2 inches. I love them.

Then we headed to the Aquarium.  We had lunch - pizza again for Cleo. I had salad. Sidney did not eat the pizza we got him.  Roger had a burger. I had a chocolate cupcake for dessert. It was decent.   Cleo had a cherry Airhead for dessert - it's taffy.

We saw all sorts of fish, sharks, manta rays, frogs and even the dolphin tales show.

Sidney was not so keen on the dolphin tales show. Prior to the start of it, they pump out this mist and Sidney is afraid of steam and mist. I asked him why he was scared and he said he was afraid it would get on him.  Well, the show starts and it's sort of a scary tale of this sea creature attacking a ship and dolphins saving the sailors.  Cleo enjoyed the dolphins as did Roger and myself. I forgot how much I like dolphins.  They were rewarded with a lot of fish after their aerodynamic tricks.  During the show, Sidney kept asking if it was over and whimpering, "Mommy, I want to go to my home." I felt bad.  Thankfully, the show was only around 30 minutes but felt longer because I knew Sidney was so unhappy.

We took the kids to the Georgia Experience section and Sidney touched a sea urchin, Cleo touched a star fish and Sidney tried to touch a little sting ray but his arm didn't reach.

One of these days we will invest in a real deal camera. I know we need to do it soon since the kids won't be young forever.  I wish our camera took more crisp, detailed picture.

Then, we took the kids to see the frogs, which you cannot see in this photo but I thought I would include it because Sidney looks so cute and focused. They both liked the frog exhibit.

As we exited, we took some photos with a decorated dolphin statue.

After taking pictures, it started to rain harder so we made our way back to our parking garage.  Then, we got food from Chipotle to go. We went to the one that we used to go to all of the time when we lived in the loft. Ah, the simple life.  What did we do with all of our time?  :-)

The kids fell asleep in the car on the way home and it was hard to wake them up when we got home. They did not have a real nap on Sunday so they were super tired. We had dinner, gave them baths and attempted to get them to bed early.

I had a wonderful, memorable Mother's Day.  I am sad we did not make it to the zoo because of the rain but the Aquarium was pretty great.

Tomorrow, Roger, Cleo and I are going on a tour of Cleo's elementary school. I will write about it soon.  Roger will drop Sidney off at daycare in the morning. We cannot take Sidney because he will be too disruptive.

Have a great week!
