I was in Nashville, TN May 9-10. I went there on a chartered bus that left Atlanta around 8am. I left home around 6:45am. I did Cleo's hair then scooted out. The bus was fun and I befriended another attorney, her name is Elizabeth. I think she's a little younger than I am. She works at Crawford Co., which is the parent company for Broadspire which is the adjuster company for our workers' compensation claims in GA and the adjuster company for my company's auto insurance provider all over the country. She's Jamaican and Greek and married to a Jamaican man. She has 5 year-old and 8 year-old sons. Elizabeth and I are going to have lunch on June 1, I am looking forward to it.
This guy, Troy, was on the bus and I met him last year when I attended the same conference. He's an attorney at Equifax. The three of us kind of hung around during the two-day symposium. We sat at the same table during the conference and at the table at the country music bar - where the evening entertainment occurred Wednesday evening. My boss attended the conference too.
I learned a lot at the symposium. I look forward to applying what I learned. I ate everything in sight while I was there and gained a number of pounds back. Now I need to refocus and lose a little so when I go to a Weight Watchers meeting I am within my goal weight.
We left Nashville around 2pm and got to Atlanta around 6:30pm. I was home around 7pm. Cleo, Sidney and Roger greeted me at the door and Sidney kept repeating, "Mommy, you're here!!" and Cleo kept saying, "Mommy, mommy, mommy!" It was great.
We don't have any plans for Saturday, which is fine by me.
Sunday, if it does not rain, we will celebrate Mother's Day at the Atlanta Zoo. Moms get in for free at the zoo this Sunday. I want to go because I love the pandas. If it rains, we are going to the Aquarium. We went once before with the kids but Cleo was 2 and Sidney was a tiny baby in a stroller. I know the kids will enjoy either one. The food is a lot better at the Aquarium - they have a fancy food court. If we go to the zoo, I will bring my own sandwich because the only veggie option for lunch is french fries.
I am watching Bridesmaids on HBO and it is so funny. Melissa McCarthy is the best!
I found Elmo water shoes and a Thomas the Train towel for Sidney. I have been looking high and low for a Thomas the Train towel and finally found one at Walmart this week. I haven't found Thomas the Train water shoes but we know he liked the Elmo shoes because they had them at Walmart last weekend but not in his size. He needs water shoes for the water days at his daycare - they cover his toes. We got Cleo Disney Princess water shoes at Walmart last weekend.
Tuesday, May 15, Cleo, Roger and I are taking a tour of Deerwood Academy, the elementary school that we are most likely sending Cleo to for kindergarten. We get there at 10:15am and will see a kindergarten classroom. Then, we get to observe kindergarten lunch at 10:30am. Our other option for kindergarten is to keep her at Kids R Kids, her current daycare. They may have first grade the following year but it's not certain.
Cleo has memorized her graduation speech. She's a genius because neither Roger nor I can commit it to memory. I am so impressed with her.
I will post pictures from Sunday!
