Snow Day!

It snowed today!  I left work around 12pm and it took me around an hour to pick up Sidney from daycare.  I was surprised how many cars were going the speed limit or higher. I saw numerous wrecks or cars that had skidded off the highway. I drove around 30 miles an hour.

It then took me around 40 minutes to drive to pick up Cleo, a trip that normally takes around 12 minutes.  The driving was treacherous and terrifying.  I went around 4 miles an hour. I was so relieved when I finally got home!

The kids went out on the deck and we had fun.

We even made a snowman!  It's around 5 inches tall.

Roger made it a hat.

After a while, the kids came in and they had hot chocolate and mint oreos.

Cleo's school is closed tomorrow. My office is unofficially closed tomorrow. I will work from home. I am not sure if Sidney's daycare is closed or not but we are not braving the roads at all tomorrow.

I was supposed to be in Macon, GA Jan. 28 and 29 because I had coordinated a two day customs training. People flew in from KY and Mexico to attend it. Everyone else I was able to reach before they headed to GA.  The wintry mix of sleet and snow is supposed to be worse in Macon today and tomorrow.

It's snowed around 2-3 inches so far here and there's no sign of it letting up.

We will take more pictures tomorrow when we let the kids make snow angels in the yard.  The snow is not great packing snow but we might try to make a bigger snowman.
