Hilton Head in February

Sidney turned 3 on February 6. He threw up a bit after eating breakfast so he stayed home with Roger. We had already bought 24 cupcakes so I took them in for his class to enjoy. When Cleo and I got home, Sidney seemed better but was coughing a lot - meaning every 20 seconds. Then, he threw up. He kept coughing a lot. I took him to an urgent care center. We got there at 8:40pm and left at 10:45pm. He was diagnosed with a virus, which caused the throwing up, and wheezing, which caused the coughing. They gave him some Zofran to stop the vomiting. He was given a prescription for Allegra and a liquid steroid. The doctor also recommended giving him Albuterol through the nebulizer as needed. We gave him his drugs when we got home around 11pm. He was doing much better on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, we drove down to Hilton Head. I had a small claims court hearing to attend on Feb. 8. We arrived in Hilton Head around 3:40pm. We relaxed a bit at the condo that my company owns. We went to dinner at the Salty Dog Cafe. There was a huge cat at the entrance which Sidney and Cleo were scared of. Sidney would have been fine if Cleo was not there but she's terrified of cats and he was copying her fear. We made it by the cat without harm. I had a black bean burger, Sidney had chicken fingers, Cleo had a grilled cheese sandwich and Roger had shrimp and grits. We went back home and had Twizzlers for dessert. We gave the kids baths, which they enjoyed.

On Wednesday, Roger made pancakes and bacon for the kids for breakfast. Then, they dropped me off at 8:30am at the courthouse which was a 30 minute drive from the condo. I won the case - my company was owed $1,705 for work done by a contractor at the condo. I was done by 10am so they came and picked me up. We went home and I changed into jeans and we had lunch at Fuddrucker's. I had a great veggie burger. Cleo and Roger had burgers. Sidney had some of Cleo's and Roger's burger and some of their fries. Cleo, Sidney and Roger had sugar cookies for dessert. I had a few bites of their cookies, which were surprisingly good. Then, we went to the playground near the condo. It's a really nice playground. We had been there before when we were in Hilton Head in late September/early October. There were two other kids there with their dad. The boy's name was Liam and his younger sister's name was Irene. I really like that name for a little girl. She was named after her maternal grandmother. Sidney and Liam introduced themselves. Sidney told Liam that his friend's name was Taylor Donald (Sidney's best pal at daycare). Liam told Sidney that his friend's name was Irene (he was referring to his sister, which I thought was so sweet). Sidney announced to me that Liam was his friend.

After the playground, we returned to the condo. Cleo, Sidney and I took naps in the room with the king size bed that Linda, Robin and Kaelin usually share. We got up from our naps around 5pm. Then, we went for a walk on the golf course and the kids hit golf balls into one of the holes at a putting green. Cleo made one really long, great putt. Sidney was hitting the ball too hard to really try to get the ball into the hole. It got cold once the sun set so we walked/trotted back to the condo and drove to dinner at a coal fire oven pizzeria. Roger and I got a large pizza, my half had mushrooms and his half had sausage and pepperoni. The pizza was really good; I ate all 4 of my slices and 1/4 of Cleo and Sidney's pizzita (a.k.a. little kid pizza). Their pizza had pepperoni on it (I ate a little slice without pepperoni). Sidney did not eat the pizza but he had two slices of fresh bread with butter. The second piece of bread he put his pepperoni on and ate it like a pizza. Sidney LOVES buttered bread and rolls.

After dinner, we went to Publix to get milk. Then, we headed home and watched a little television.

Today, we had breakfast, tidied up, packed up the car by 9:50am and headed to Atlanta. We stopped at McDonald's and Taco Bell around 12 for lunch and bathroom breaks. We got home around 2:45pm.

Cleo, Sidney and I put together 2 puzzles. Sidney was very helpful in putting together Cleo's Fancy Nancy 100 piece puzzle. We also put together a 24 piece Thomas the Train puzzle, but we let Sidney do the majority of it.

Cleo and Sidney each got to use the computer for 30 minutes. Cleo played games on the PBS Kids website. Sidney sat on my lap and we watched train videos. Mostly, we looked for Diesel 10 videos. The only videos are home made and not so great. Sidney really likes diesel trains, especially Diesel 10, who is the interesting villain train in Day of the Diesels. It's a newish Thomas the Train DVD that Sidney got for his birthday from my mom.

Tomorrow, we all return to work and school. Cleo has ballet at school on Fridays so that will be fun for her.

We do not have much planned for the weekend. We have to write out Cleo and Sidney's classmates' Valentine's cards. We have some left over from last year for the boys (Scooby Doo and Justice League) and a new box of Disney Princesses for the girls in their classes. Surely, Cleo will want to write out the cards this year for her classmates.
